Dragged, Kicking and Screaming!

The X Foundation Announces Cabaret with a Twist, “Bedraggled” 1 April 2009

Non-profit organisation The X Foundation has launched its new fundraising event, Bedraggled - a cabaret with a bit of a difference. Eleven ordinary lads of all shapes and sizes will undergo training to become drag queens for one spectacular show at London’s Bethnal Green Working Men's Club this April Fool’s Day.

A whole football team’s-worth of plucky chaps will be displaying their new-found drag skills on stage in aid of Prostate Cancer Research Foundation to mark the end of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month in March.

Undisputed queens of the scene The LipSinkers will be assisting in style. The LipSinkers have been exciting and delighting sold-out crowds at Bistrotheque in East London for the past two years; and when you’re this good, compliments are not hard to come by. The Times acknowledged their rightful place on the cabaret throne when it described their show as “possibly the most ridiculous, fun night out ever”.

This is the first in a series of Bedraggled events, so if you happen to be - or know - a fearless fellow who could be persuaded to put on a frock and learn a fabulously flamboyant lipsynced number in aid of a good cause, The X Foundation would like to hear from you.

So, don that wig, dab off the excess lippy, and strut your way to Bedraggled at Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club this April 1st.
Fun has found a new form and it’s wearing size eleven heels!
